What is ActiveGlide?

ActiveGlide is Lincoln's newest technology that lets you take your hands off the wheel and lets the intelligent system take over your driving.

It comes with a built-in Lincoln ActiveGlide map designed to detect if you're in a Hands-Free Blue Zone anywhere in the United States so you can activate and use it as needed. And if you're worried about finding a Hands-Free Blue Zone in your area, it's good to know that there are about 130,000 miles in the United States that have such zones.

The ActiveGlide uses the Lincoln safety technology, including its Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering, and Speed Sign Recognition. It also has driver-facing cameras and monitors that can detect your attention span and driving behavior.

With ActiveGlide, you’re free to let go of the wheel safely to rest your hands or take care of other essential tasks while keeping your eyes on the road.

How Does it Work?

When you enter a Hands-Free Blue Zone, your Adaptive Cruise Control feature automatically turns into ActiveGlide. Your dashboard or Head-Up display will show a blue icon notifying you of the change.

Once notified, you can safely take your hands off your steering wheel to enjoy your ActiveGlide feature. You may feel your vehicle adjusting on the road to keep it moving inside the lane. The ActiveGlide is also designed to detect traffic flow, traffic lights, and stop signs to ensure proper navigation even at highway speed.

Your cameras are designed to monitor your driving behavior and notify you if you are not paying attention or watching the road. As needed, you can always resume control over your ActiveGlide.
